THE BRIEF
A twelve-course restaurant for chef Dario de Angeli, made by knocking two tired spaces into one. The brief was modern minimalism; the risk in a room like that is coldness.
Warmth had to come from the building itself rather than from decoration laid on top of it.

Brick and steel salvaged during demolition went back into the room, cleaned but not disguised — the same material given a second life and a visible one. Original work by local artists carries the walls.
THE RESULT
A restrained room that still holds a two-hour table. The minimalism reads as calm rather than cold, because almost everything in it was already here.
